I've been going to nudist resorts since 1998 (the year that I turned 18) but considered myself a nudist before that.  I'd been reading about nudism online for several years before that & have liked being naked for as long as I can remember.

I would say I always preferred being nude, my family was very nude friendly and we used to be nude at home when I was younger, but I would say the last 3-4 years.

I don't know at which point I would have called myself a naturist, although I've liked doing things naked since I was a teenager.
