"What would you give up...?" (question asked on radio)
« on: September 17, 2009, 03:30:15 am »
On an obnoxious morning radio show, female listeners were invited to call or text their response to this question:  "What would you give up for an unlimited lifetime fashion card?"

Since naturists might not be fashion-obsessed, I'll allow you to substitute an alternative shopping card or pass, good for your lifetime. Please post which one you would choose. (Sorry, this board allows only one question per topic, or I'd make that question #1.) Here are the substitutions allowed:

  • restaurant card: covers any restaurant meal for you and a guest, including wine or beer, gratuity & taxes. works everywhere credit or debit cards are accepted, from coffee shops to gourmet restaurants.
  • airline pass: covers one first class ticket, or two coach tickets, including taxes and fees, for any scheduled airline flight.
  • theatre pass: gets you and a guest into any movie, play, concert, opera, ballet, etc.
  • hotel card: covers king or queen room at any hotel or motel, including taxes and standard gratuity. may include free breakfast. excludes TV if that was your sacrifice. does not cover parking, room service, phone charges or other extra charges.
  • illegal parking pass: allows you to illegally park with impunity. does not guarantee your car will not be crumpled if you park in a really stupid place.
  • speeding pass: does not guarantee you will not be pulled over, but flashing this pass will get you off the hook, unless you caused an accident.

Anyone may vote here, male or female.

Since I'm not big on sweets anyway, I guess I'll give up chocolate for the speeding pass. Not saying I would use it all the time but it would be nice to have if I'm in a hurry.

I really can't see that the fashion card would be very valuable to me. Yes, I do like some of the very expensive suits and other clothing in men's fashion magazines, but I really don't have anywhere to wear them. I suppose I could get some handmade cowboy boots and a really nice cowboy hat.

The airline pass could be extremely valuable if I wanted to do a lot of flying. However, I'd rather fly to one destination and stay for one or two weeks. For trips like that, the hotel pass would be more valuable than the airline pass.

I voted to give up TV. I don't watch TV much.

I eat chocolate and sweets occasionally, but I could give them up as well.

I've pretty much given up TV. The last time I sat down to watch anything was Doctor Who in April. Next thing will be Doctor Who in November  :322

O.k. I'd give up chocolate and sweets for a hotel pass too for the reason Brandon posted. I don't eat chocolate already so it's no biggie.

LOL, yes!!

Nothing,I like all the other things and could never give up one of them.
If I lived in Switzerland, I wouldn't be able to give up chocolate!

I realized this morning that I had forgotten one of the alternatives to a clothes shopping card: I was going to include "Endless Summer" which might have particular appeal to naturists in the temperate/colder parts of the world.
