If you were a moderately famous male celebrity, would you...

By moderately famous, I mean that 10% of the population might recognize you, but you don't have hoards of screaming fans chasing after you.

I'd stay away. The negative publicity would be bad. Unless of course I was famous for being nude, then I'd be there with bells on.

I'd totally hit the beach or even appear "full frontal nude" in a movie if the director wanted me to.  Of course I'm what you would call a "left wing radical."  I'd also speak out for the legalization of drugs and other controversial political issues.

Yeah sure.

I don't the paparazzi stalk naked men as much as they do women. Pictures have leaked of various celebrity women nude or partial nude women on beaches. I haven't them of men but maybe that's because I'm not looking for them.  :56789

Unless you're like a disney star or something that deals with children I can't see how being naked would ever really damage your career. You'd be surprised how much people really don't care once they've seen you nude once. Plus as we see from damn near ever celebrity, being naked seems to get you MORE fans- all the leaked cell phone pictures, email, and stolen sex tapes. Being at a nude beach is the least of your worries.

As a side who really cares if someone has a naked picture of you. I would just be flattered :45

Yeah is hit the beach and if the publicity done my career some good then thats a bonus :) And yes the fans do seem to like having nude pics of there favourites, probably why the paparazzi follow em in the 1st place.

Good points.  Makes me think, really.
As for Disney, it didn't hurt Vanessa Hudgens career at all, and that wasn't at a N beach either.  However, this is about guys, not girls so back to the subject at hand.

Negative publicity? I don't think there's such a thing as negative publicity when you are famous :)

I'd definitely go. If people have questions about why am I how I am, I'd use the occasion to promote my beliefs. Besides, people who would be my fans chose to follow me; I didn't pick them as followers. The followers would either be ok with that, or find a new celebrity to follow.

But it would be nice if whoever this hypothetical celebrity is would be articulate enough to come off sounding like a reasoned proponent of naturism rather than someone who just came to after a big bender and can't find his clothes.  Imagine if Charlie Sheen decided to take a stand in favour of naturism.  Ughh!

There have been a few famous men who were snapped by the paparazzi getting naked on the beach.  I think there were some of Kurt Russell on a private beach in Malibu.  Of course the tabloids were mostly cracking on him for having gained some weight since his Snake Plissken days or making bad double entendres about the size of his penis.

Gérard Depardieu was similarly photographed nude on a beach in the south of France and the "reporting" on it was mostly "oh look another fat, old, European man who thinks it's OK to walk around naked."

I wouldn't. It's not so much the bad publicity, but just the fact that it's not something I would feel comfortable being open about to everyone. Right now I am far from even moderately famous, but I still wouldn't be comfortable having to share that with everyone I know. Fact of the matter is that not everyone will understand or look at the same way I do or whatevere and I'm more the kind of guy to avoid confrontation.

Maybe I'm just shy, though

I am moderately famous where I am from. That is why I don't have a picture up or my actual name. This isn't because I'd be embarrassed of someone knowing I am a naturist. I just don't want people to have another social networking site to flood with BS.
