I am starting to get confused about "indie", actually. I mean, Nuclear Blast is not owned by a major company or a RIAA member, so it classifies itself as independent, but with their share of the Metal market, I do not really think they qualify.

I agree with what Wikipedia says:
Quote
In music, independent music, often shortened to indie music or "indie" is a term used to describe independence from major commercial record labels or their subsidiaries, and an autonomous, Do-It-Yourself approach to recording and publishing.

Concerning Nuclear Blast: You can say they were a "Indie" label, back in the late eighties when they released albums of unknown Metal, Hardcore and Punk bands. These days I would say no. They have gotten too big and unknown bands only get a chance if Nuclear Blast smells money for commercial success

Somehow postimage.org is acting up for me, so I shall use my good old host of choice, imageshack:

This is from their mySpace profile. Sounded fishy to me, too.
That person in my Avatar picture? Mitsuo Yamaki from Digimon Tamers as he came to stop HYPNOS from blowing up.

They are "independent" in the way that they don't belong to another major record label...
But "independent" in the same way, as for example, EMI can say they are "independent" because they also do not belong to another major record label and they are their own boss.

It's like a lot of modern "Punk" bands these days...
Sure, they make Music with a "Punk" sound, but do they have the Punk mentality?

SME, UMG, WMG and EMI belong to a bigger business that goes beyond music distribution though, so they are not independent either.
But I think I have derailed the topic sufficiently. Better leave it to you guys to add some music to it again.

I meant independent in the way that EMI can do/decide (concerning Music) what they want without asking permission of the bigger business that goes beyond Music distribution

Right now I'm listening to a band who were known for their extreme and weird life performances.
Goth/Punk legends: Virgin Prunes - Caucasion Walk (1982)

Interesting Music fact: when the Virgin Prunes originated in the late seventies under the name Lypton Village they had a member named Paul Hewson (aka Bono of U2)

I've been listening Legendary Tigerman for a while and I chose this kind of late Christmas season song.

Nothing against Christmas anyway...

In the end everything will be ok. If not, that's not the end
