Do you get emotional when watching sports?
« on: October 25, 2011, 01:54:33 am »
I have been wondering lately if it's usual or unusual for people to emotional or not emotional when watching their favorite sports.

I'm one of those people who honestly just doesn't care for sports too much. In my mind, when it comes right down to it, you're chasing a piece of plastic around. I'm not very competitive. But I guess I can see why people do love sports so much. Just not for me.

I hardly get emotional when I'm watching sports by myself, but when I'm with other people, I do the odd fist-pump and "Yessss" and *groannnn* every so often...lol.

Perhaps I am rather reserved compared to most people....I enjoy watching and playing sports, but I do realize that at the end of the day, it is just a game.  It's that realization that helps keep me grounded.

Not sure what everyone else thinks, but I really do think that sports is an essential tool in developing the individual psyche- especially when interacting or relating to other people........................I won't elaborate any further as the bigger jocks might beat me up...lol.

Yes. When I see a match of my favorite soccer team or if the German national soccer team see, I can no longer sit or I cheer when a goal is scored (obviously not when the opponent has made the goal).

That is why it is fun to watch soccer.

In general,  :3145. The only sport that I watch regularly with any degree of devotion is the basketball playoffs.

It all depends on who I am with, what the event is...and how important the event is.  Playoffs in any sport - for sure can get very emotional....especially when with friends.  Other times - like regular season not as much as it isn't a win/loss thing.

Only the good kind of emotional. If my team loses an important game it's pretty much "Well, that sucks" since I don't see the need to get angry or sad over a game, However, if my team is winning I can be quite loud and cheerful, watching the Cardinals in the World Series this year has brought out a lot of things from me.

When I go to a football (soccer) match I get very vocal. I play darts and if I play badly I get very frustrated so I guess thats still emotional. So yes I do  :323232

would be a shame if you just go to the stadium and be quiet... even tho there are no standing terraces in the uk anymore

Do you get emotional when watching sports?

Why do you ask? Did you hear me screaming at the top of my lungs when my Rangers lost earlier tonight? :(

Anyone who was around me during this game last night definitely knows the answer is yes. It was one of the greatest World Series games ever played.
