I managed to get my hands on the first two videos when they came out. I only had terrestial TV so it was the only way I could get to see it. I was very keen on mixed martial martial arts at the time, mainly doing Thai boxing, JKD, Kali and later Wing Tsun so I was very keen to see it being used for real, as much as you practically and legally can that is. I had realised that many martial arts when used for sports stop becoming martial arts and start using techniques that get you extra points in a competition. Not very useful in a real life encounter. For example Savate now teaches you to do multiple quick kicks to touch the opponent more often rather than do one massive kick that will floor him. Which says something about Thai boxing as that's a sport that has retained its brutality.

At the time Brazillian Ju-jitsu was getting everyone into a frenzy as people were realising that it always came down to being able to grapple. Although it was pointed out that this was in an enclosed arena and in real life grappling on a pavement would just allow someone's mate to kick you from the side.

Im not a fan. I find it too thuggish. I prefere my martial arts with more style and grace (like tae kwon do) rather than just dragging some one to the ground an beating on them. Im not a fan of mma for that reason. Its not really a matial ART and it tends to attract meat heads who just want to hurt people.

I too love the UFC. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be being broadcast at the moment here in Sydney on free-to-air. I disagree it's thuggish. It has all the disciplines of the individual martial arts, just combined.

I like it too. In fact, I can't be bothered watching boxing anymore because I'm thinking: "he's not using all of the weapons and skills available to him"

Oh Lord, a favorite match?  I've seen sooooo many.  Some boring ones, some downright bad ass knock outs.

I haven't seen any matches in a while.  I do know that Rashad Evans and Jon Jones threw down a little while ago.  Don't know who won.

I have favorite fighters.  Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, Jean St. Pierre, B. J Penn, Randy Coture, Brock Lesner (okay),  Mirco Crocop( I know I didn't spell that right)- for his vicious kicks.  There are a bunch of younger guys coming up through the ranks.  Need to watch more.

I don't think it's thuggish.  There is skill involved.  These men have a myriad of techniques at their disposal.  More fun to watch than a couple guys standing there punching each other.  Though I do give credit to Muhammad Ali.

Absolutely!

I am a huge fan of Matt Hughes, in my opinion the submission king. I also love GSP and Chcuck Liddell. Liddell was better a few years ago, now he is getting tired. Same thing with Shamrock. I used to hate Rashad Evans back on the Ultimate Fighter series, and still dislike his demeanor but he has proven himself to be a good fighter. I also like the deaf guy Matt Hammil ever since he first appeared on the series as well.

My two favourites are Matt Hughes and Georges St-Pierre. They have had some great battles with each other too!

My favorite match has got to be Kimbo Slice vs Seth Petruzelli because of how big of an upset it was.  I was living in South Florida at the time and Kimbo was a major hometown hero and people were sure he was going to be the next big champ.  Petruzelli was a last minute replacement after UFC legend Ken Shamrock was injured during training earlier on the day of the fight.  Petruzelli was a relative unknown who most fans figured would be a "lamb to the slaughter" and he KO'd slice in 14 seconds.

One of my favourite fights was Cheik Kongo vs. Pat Barry last year. How Kongo didn't stay down is beyond me. Amazing fight.

Huge GSP fan - his athleticism is incredible. Be nice if he could get his injuries sorted.

And definitely prefer mixed martial arts to karate or any other particular style. If you're ever in a fight and all you know is tae quon-do you're screwed. This is real fighting - the best fighter wins.

I am a big UFC fan. I went to see Mark Hunt vs Bigfoot Silva 1 in Brisbane at the end of 2013 and went again last year to see Mark Hunt vs Frank Mir.

Hunt vs Silva was the greatest heavy weight fight I've ever seen. % rounds of 2 big guys beating the crap out of each other

I also love the UFC. MMA is a great sport that requiers both technique and stamina. I practiced MMA for quite a while but had to stop due to medical reasons. This summer I want to slowly start training again.

I hate to be THAT guy, but I have to say I'm a Conor McGregor fan. I'm newer into UFC so I would be tarnished with it, but I just have to go with Conor. (Also he shares my name, so that is always a plus lol).

I enjoy watching MMA from time to time.

Back in ze day, I used to enjoy street fighting.  'Twas a good, albeit unhealthy way to release anger.
