I just finished watching all the HP movies (again) with a friend over a few months. The final movie is so intense!! But I still think the books are better.

I'm so pumped for the show! This is something fans have been asking for for years. The movies left so much from the books out so a series with a season for each book will allow them to include so much more from the books that didn't make it the first time around. It'll be hard to top the amazing casting from the movies but HBO has a great track record so I think they'll be able to pull it off. Can't wait

I'm excited about it as well, though i think I would have preferred a series that tells a new story. Maybe about Harry's work as an auror or something. But like I said, I'm still hyped :D

LOVE Harry Potter, the movies never cease to amaze me, it's just so great :).
I really like the dark elements in the movies, especially because every movie became a little more darker than the last one :).

I wouldn’t go far as to say I’m a die-hard HP fan but I remember reading the books (I remember when they were all the rage!) and seeing the films. My favourite book in the series is the very first one, the Philosopher’s Stone (or Sorcerer’s, depending on where in he world you lived) because I remember my mother giving it to me as a Christmas present and it was what really set off my obsession with HP.

If we’re talking movies, then Goblet of Fire ranks pretty high on my list.

Just a bonus question: has anyone ever taken a test to see what house you would be sorted into? I did and got Ravenclaw.

Any Harry Potter fans out there that want to talk about it.  The movie got robbed not being nominated for any awards.  It was great.  The books are classics too.  I'm prepared for the hate, bring it on.

I used to like it.  Not really the movies as much as the books.  But the author's behavior has tainted the whole thing for me really.

I think if the series is successful it will lead to other spinoff and prequel series that you wish to see, like we're getting right now with Game Of Thrones. I'd love to see an auror show too, either with Harry or even just a spinoff with all original characters, and done like a police procedural but within the Wizarding World. That would be great! We could also see a prequel series about the 4 founders of Hogwarts, a spinoff about another school that's not Hogwarts like Ilvermorny or Uagadou. The possibilities are endless
