Big metal fan here. I kind of want to go to the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, at least the day Killswitch Engage is playing to see the first show with Jesse Leach back.

Iron Maiden's "Somewhere in Time" was the first cassette that I ever bought as a kid in 4th grade.  Love that band and have been lucky enough to see them 3 times live, they put on the best show ever, so if you get a chance to see them please do.  Metallica's "Kill 'em All" was the next purchase.
I also do like the newer bands, like Lamb of God, and I also like the death metal scene with bands like Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, and my friends somewhat local band Mortal Decay, they have played the New Jersey and Milwaukee metal-fests a couple of times.
Anything with a great guitar riff and pounding drums is good for me.

That was amazing! Nothing can replace Dio, but that was a fitting tribute to him. It was obvious they were having fun with the video and that's great to see.

Judas Priest..... my favorite.....   :89

The great thing about Judas Priest is how the lead singer brought the culture of the 70s & 80s gay underground scene to the seriously homophobic world of 80s heavy metal without anyone noticing. One of the finest moments of cultural subversion I've ever witnessed.

That is pretty funny. I've seen Judas Priest twice and they're still the masters of what they do, totally schooling bands several generations their junior.

One of the things I love about Killswitch is you can tell they enjoy the hell out of playing and being on stage and don't take themselves too seriously. Especially Adam who's been known to wear hot pants/Daisy Dukes on stage.  :786

Two weeks ago I was at a metal festival in Sydney called 'SoundWave'. there were 107 bands on 7 stages over the day. I got to see Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Kvelertak, Mastodon, Zakk Wyld's Black Rebel Society, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit and Watain but I missed heaps. Top day out! :)

Here's the lineup for those interesed : http://www.soundwavefestival.com/lineup

I also love listening to Metallica, Soilwork, Buried in Verona, Holy Grail, Amon Amarth, Devil Driver and heaps more. Yeah I have a large metal collection.
