I saw Wonder Woman on Friday, best movie in the DCEU by far! It had the optimistic, exciting, hopeful heroism that had been lacking in the DCEU so far, and it was great finally seeing this amazing heroine kick ass on the big screen!

That was a book in our monthly Naked Book Club a few months ago. Each month we read a book that is coming out as a movie. I thought they were both sweet. And, yes, I bawled too, but more so reading the book.

Indeed. It was incredible. And while I was initially skeptical of moving the setting to WWI time and missing the chance to place one DC character in their original time frame more or less, from a story standpoint it make perfect sense.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Sicario is a great tense movie and horrifying as hell given the fact the movie is pretty firmly rooted in reality and you get the feeling this stuff goes on all the time in the real world to an extent we'll truly never understand. It's about the drug war in Mexico and the involvement of the U.S. The sound design is also amazing.

Cautiously optimistic about the upcoming spinoff.
