Chinese Beauty Contest for College Students Demands Perfect Nipples (?)

A beauty contest seeking to discover the ten most beautiful college students in China's Hubei Province has come under fire for requiring applicants to prove that their nipples are a specific distance apart from each other.
The space between the two protrusions shall be no greater than 20 centimeters, the organizers specify.
The contest, launched by the website Campus Model, also has very exact requirements for the applicants' bust, waist, and hips. "We want the winners to be extremely good-looking," one of the organizers told the Global Times. "We have based our criteria both on the traditional Chinese and more modern Western aesthetic values."
Responding to a question about their source for the perfect nipple distance, the website staffer said "Internet research" was involved.
Many locals took to social networking sites to criticize the contest and those who would participate in it.
"Check out what the brain-dead college people spend all day doing, then you'll know why China can't produce a Harvard, Oxford!" said one irate Sina Weibo user. "When we select the most handsome boy, we'll measure his dick length and width," said another.
So far only a handful of young women have agreed to subject their nipples to scrutiny for a shot at winning 10,000 yuan (~$1,600) "and the chance to act in online dramas."

Lol, I'm embarrassed to admit that I actually got a ruler and measured how far apart my nips were. 
By the look of it, I meet the 20cm requirement but that'd be about it. 
Since I fractured my collarbone things aren't aligned properly anymore.   

I feel sorry for the girls, no one is perfect.  And $1,600 isn't nearly enough money to be scrutinized that way.

$1,600 goes a lot further in China than it does in the USA.

As for scrutinizing them so much; that's kinda what the pageant culture is about.  A few years ago it came out that the Miss California organization had paid over $5,000 for controversial contestant Carrie Prejean to get breast implants before representing her state in the Miss USA pageant.

The only reason that even came out was as a result of a series of lawsuits & counter-suits because of her other controversies.  It makes you wonder how many of these other young Miss USA contestants are told by their local organization "you may have won locally, but if you want to win nationally you need a little nip here and a little tuck there."

Beauty pageants always are about arbitrary standards. I think it's better if they are explicit about them.

$1,600 probably does go along way in China but it won't buy those girls a new car, nice apartment or send them to college.  If the only reward they get is a crap amount of money and a "chance to act in online dramas"  that ain't much.  And if the judges are measuring nipple distance what kind of "online dramas" are these girls gonna be acting in?

If China hadn't wiped out the majority of their female population during the early 80's with their One child policy they'd probably have many more beautiful talented women to choose from.  In my opinion, their idea of a beauty contest is sexist and demeaning.

That also brings up what constitutes as beautiful.  There's what we are pummeled with everyday with the media, the modified "nipped and tucked" beauty, and then there are actual real beautiful women.

I say good luck to the Chinese if they can find a real women who's got naturally aligned, triangulated and symmetrical boobs. (that sentence reads weird but i'm referencing the diagram above)

That was my earlier point. There's a fundamental problem with beauty pagents. The nipple rules aren't worse than the rest.

I have issue with beauty pagents but I think they should be allowed to continue because it's free speech.

Except the ones with toddlers / young kid, that's child abuse and should be outlawed.

Oh, I agree there should still be beauty pageants.  For scholarship reasons and great platforms and such but there should be a "you must be 100% real" rule.   no nips or tucks.

Hats off to the judges I say. They've done a wonderful job of finding a new artificial and pointless standard of beauty most women won't live up to.

Now, will they specify the correct angles required for a right angled triangle that gets formed from a line running down the centre of the body, a line between the nipples, and a line drawn from a nipple to the end of a flacid penis?

We men need to feel ugly as well!
