Poetry thread!

[Nature Boy]

I like to write poetry when I feel the need to, I find it to be really fun and calming a lot of the time. Do any of you like to write poems too:)?

Also here's a short poem I wrote a few days ago called Mantis Wings, hope you all like it!- Flight of the preacher, Green under his gold. Bold arms locked his sins are his to mold. Bright wings sheathed the tips shine. He walks into the dark.

I used to write poetry a lot more than I do now. I guess I'm less creative now, although the quality of my writing has definitely increased over the years. It seems the better my language, the less I use it...

Anyway, I've had a small image in my head today so I guess I'll try to make something of it...

I walked along the edge of something, nameless but alive
Stepping to the beat, yet closer to the end
And saw over that precipice a feeling I'd describe
In colors I can't speak, and dreams that passed me by
The flicker of nostalgia, like I hadn't seen
And jamais-vu the likes of which I can't comprehend
And everything, it seemed to me, was as it once had been
Now finally reminding me I can't go home again.

does anyone one like poetry ? i really like writing poetry and have  a passion for it and i want to share my work for other people . Furthermore for people who like writing poetry, they  can share their work with others. While  discussing what you liked and  disliked   about other peoples  poetry .For people who havent written peotry and are intersted in it  you can give it a try and see how amazing poetry when you put your mind to it .

I've never really written poetry with any seriousness but I love to read it. I love dante, milton, burns, poe. I also enjoy classic asian poetry such as journey to the west.

I used to write really depressing poetry when I broke up with my ex. It was just a way of venting and letting it all out. Poetry is good for that. Its not something I would do for fun though, just stress relief.

poetry is an expression in its self. it helps people express their feelings for others and beliefs and past experiences.

I love poetry! Words can do wonders. I'd share some of mine when I have the time. I actually do write some when I am in touch with nature and with myself. Really inspirational! Beautiful!
