NFL 2012-2013 Season
« on: September 10, 2012, 12:32:26 pm »
Well, it's here and just like every year I'm totally excited. Took tonight off so I can watch my Raiders begin another season of mediocrity :-(

I've waited seven months for this and I'm glad the new season is here.  And it's off to a great start with my 49ers winning a big one in Lambeau over the Packers.

I honestly don't think the Raiders could have put on a worse performance than what they put on during the Monday Night Game. It just seals the fact that the Broncos are going to sweep the division this year. Think your Niners will win the NFC West again?

49ers! Faithfully!!
If they get better they should easily do so! I mean Green Bay Packers already got the perfect season destroyed!!

I was so pissed off with the NFL and sky sports signing the deal on the day of the first game :( will take 2 weeks till I can watch all games...

The 49ers will win the NFC West.  If the Packers game was any indication of what this team is about, the Niners are a force to be reckoned with.

A few other things I learned from this weekend:  Despite wins, the Eagles and Chargers are not very good teams; Robert Griffin III might just be what the Redskins have needed;  Bountygate might just affect the Saints in more ways that I had originally thought; it's gonna be a long season for the Raiders and the Dolphins.

Well I'm rotting for The Patriots and Steelers. Steelers got of to a lethargic start to their season, but they will be better. I hope that the Patriots have finally solve their defensive issues, since they were lacking of it last season... they looked good on their first game, so we'll see how they go as they move on.  :3456

Patriots still need to improve their defense and their offensive line. But I think they will get better as the season goes along. Greetings Pepe.   :543

Well, looks like were finally getting the referees back after a 3 week lockout. I was happy to see the Raiders beat the Steelers, I really predicted Oakland would go 0-6 before scrounging a win together, they really just don't look that good this season.

Thank goodness the pro zebras are back.  :2345

As for your Raiders beating my Steelers, what's that about?  The Raiders didn't take a single penalty until the fourth quarter and then the one they called against Richard Seymour should have gone against Pittsburgh.  The reason it didn't was the presence of those sand-lot referees.  And Mundy's hit on Heyward-Bey going unpenalized -- un-freaking-believeable !!! The sand-lot refs changed the outcome of at least three games on the weekend -- funny how the lock-out got settled so soon afterward.  This is all on Roger's back.  The owner's should sue the league for failing to provide proper officiating.

Go Steelers  :234567

I'm just glad Heyward-Bay is alright, I was biting my fingernails while he was laying motionless. I think the controversy during the Green Bay and Seattle game was the catalyst we needed to get our Zebras back.

Your wish is granted. I kinda feel bad for the replacement refs. They got such a bad rap for everything during this young season.  :undecided:

Oh trust me, come Sunday we'll all be back to bitching about the old refs just like old times.

It will be true that we'll be back to bitching about the refs' decisions now that the actual pro refs are returning, but something tells me this will only be different in that it won't be a fourth week in a row that NFL fans won't have an axe to grind with officiating regardless of whether their team wins or loses.  For those whose teams will lose after this weekend, the axes that need grinding are gonna be based on the teams' performance rather than the officials.
