Prog!
« on: November 04, 2012, 01:57:58 pm »
Anyone out here who enjoys the sweet musicianship and musicality of the genre prog? Whilst there is a lot of bad prog, some of the best music out there is progressive in my opinion. Here are just a few suggestions!

They are all great,

I love prog!

Me and a friend have started a new
progressive inspired project
and we are working on the demo tapes
and want to apply for funding to get an album
recorded!

We are called 'Beat the Devil,' and have a facebook page at the moment.

We are abreviated as 'B.T.D.' on facebook......

if you can't find them I will send you the link.

I prefer 'The Wilde Flowers,' King Crimson, Robert Fripp, Robert Wyatt,
Brian Eno.......

I'll definitely check it out! And be sure to keep us updated

I really love King Crimson as well! It can get quite tough on my ears after listening to one album though.
I would really like to have a prog band as well, but I just can't seem to find the musicians and the time.

Good luck with the funding, recording/mixing/mastering still is REALLY expensive..

Definitely..
that is why we are doing as much as we
can ourselves..

We are not really prog but prog inspired.

The bbc did a good documentary on prog:

They also did episodes on synth music and krautrock.

I love progressive music! Long songs, hidden stories, meaningful lyrics, and AWESOME musicianship! What more could you ask for? My favorites are probably Rush and Dream Theater..2 great bands!
