One of the students involved in a naked university calendar in the UK has defended their actions amid claims that it is tacky and damaging to feminists.

Harriet Reed is a student at Warwick University and she is a member of the rowing team that stripped off for the club’s calendar, with the proceeds going to the MacMillan Cancer charity.

While naked calendars are hardly a new phenomenon, some have questioned the ethics of students stripping off in the name of charity. For what it is worth,  JOE thinks the pictures are very tasteful.

Reed dismissed the notion that the calendar was some form of watered down pornography and thinks what is important is raising money for a worthy cause.

“These naked calendars do make money for some fantastic charities and so what really is the harm in them?” she told the Huffington Post.

We are fully supportive of Harriet and her rowing team-mates. All in the name of charity.

I know, right?  It's comments like theirs that give feminism a bad reputation.  If anything being naked is an equaliser. 

I'd suggest the original criticism of this charity effort by the so-called feminist, in the light of many other male naked calendars, is unequal and anti-feminist.
