NHL 2013
« on: January 07, 2013, 02:01:22 am »
The NHL is back. They are now free to play a game and get paid exuberant amounts of money. I would play for 60 thousand a year. I would have a huge hate fan base being so lousy. But at least I'm not a greedy player. Or greedy owner.

Yeah I never felt sorry for either side. Even the poorest NHL players make a VERY comfortable salary, and the owners make even more. I have to admit though that I am looking forward to watching hockey again.

I don't feel sorry for either side but if I had to pick one side, I'd go with the players since they are the ones getting the concussions and other kinds of injuries and can't play for that many years. Owners have it much easier.

Glad to see hockey back.  Now if Gary Bettman can just resign from his commissioner's post...

I thought the players should set have up their own league. It would have been interesting to see if they could get TV contracts for the games. Getting arena access might have been a bigger challenge.

I'm not much of a fan of any professional sports, but maybe it's not such a bad idea to have the NHL season start as the NFL season wraps up.

The Blackhawks players, mostly Jonathan Toews, set up a small game midway through the lockout at the local AHL teams(Wolves) stadium. I heard several players from the hawks and other teams showed up but I was not able to go. Besides that I'm happy Hockey is back and I'm looking forward to going to at least a few games.
