This is a brilliant idea! Now how can we turn this into a whole world thing?

It's great that this kind of event try to catch mostly the participation of non-nudist people. Even if they had to put that kind of towel, it seems to me that all the people there if not nudists yet, will stay more tuned and give it another and more relaxed try some day soon in a nude beach or so.

And that's what naturism needs, that people try; then, for the most, will be just a matter of time to repeat the joyful of being naked.

Last note, it seems that NUDIE is already a registered brand in Australia (there is a thread about NUDIE in IYNO). Any one knows      who is the "owner" of it in Australia ?

I'm not sure that they had to put the towel on at the end, it might have just been a comfort thing for some people.  As the one guy said, "it's not for people who are already comfortable naked."

Nudie is a fruit juice company based in Sydney - and when approached agreed to sponsor the event.  All participants got juice samples and a sarong/pareo/wrap which is what you saw the girls and boys wrapped in - all for $35.

This swim is part of a a broader ocean swimming circuit - it just happens that his one requires you to swim naked.  My friends who participated are avid ocean swimmers and went in this as a "giggle". 

With regard this 700+ swimmers suddenly becoming naturists, only about 40 where still there naked 30 minutes after the swim finished and mainly the younger swimmers.  All my friends said they felt exhilirated by the swim, but felt odd being surrounded by dressed marshalls and lifeguards and that was the major reason for putting clothes back on - well at least their sarongs.

There is an event called World Record Skinny Dip which is similar, but it is not a fundraising event as far as I know.

I'm glad all the punters had a great time doing the swim.  :-)

I mentally took some notes about the video content. One is that there were too much clothed people from the "staff". Even the "Welcome desk" ones were clothed. It's like saying: you're doing great today, but that's not really for us...

The other thing, it seems  to have had too many clothed people from "press" and adding them to the marshalls and lifeguards, it can be well possible that most participants may have felt like "hunted trophys".

Anyway was definitely a good promotion.

The time to do this
