status & smiley help pls

I have two questions.
Why am I offline in my status when I'm online?
Why can't I see the smileys? All I see is a blank box with the word describing the smiley and a red X.

To your first question: You have elected to hide your online status, so you will always appear offline unless you change that.
To your second question: You have selected an alternative smiley set that does not contain our vast amount of custom smileys. Since they are the ones used most and they are not contained in the alternative sets, you get many blanks.

That explains the smileys. I was able to reset them to the forum style after reading your message, they were on akyhm or something. I can't find where to change my online status tho.

No problem, changed it for you. I think you can change it when you log in, not sure whether the option under Account Settings is visible to you.
