Taylor, those are awesome!!!  I see that you have used charcoal on two of them. Is that your favorite medium for drawing?

I do love charcoal. I think my favorite kind of drawing is a subtractive process with charcoal. I don't have the patience to draw very often though. I also prefer using live models and I'm not sure where to get those outside of school.

Bringing back this old thread...there are some lovely drawings in here! Here are a few favorite drawings of mine.

They are awesome! I really like the 2nd one

I know what you mean. I like charcoals and pencils - black and white in general and monochrome. Never really got into using more colours in my work. And I can relate to the problem with the lack of models. I used to attend community colleges classes where we had live models. It is a whole different experience drawing actual live persons than just practice from photographs. Finding the shapes and find a strong steady pace, since they can't be still too long.

Besides that I would also draw people in our faculty's student rec room - if they were lax enough to stay still for few minutes.

I would have to say - the torso. I start every drawing with a head, but then I tend to linger more on the torso before turning to complete other body parts. Head - or rather the face and hands are still something I don't have enough skill to like.

And yours?

I love to draw legs. There is something about a knee that is so wrong that it unravels what I know about drawing. I can just draw what I see and trust that my pesky previous experience won't ruin it. I also like how lighting looks on the rest of the legs. The curves of the calves are so fun to draw.

:cheesy: I understand. One more reason is why I like drawing the torso is that even without limbs, there is so much going on in the torso. As if, it alone is enough to define what the rest of the body is doing, you know?

You can see some muscle strands in my legs.. I think you can draw it. ^_^
