Kind of expected this result, but can't say the US didn't put up one hell of a fight.

Best game of the World Cup so far. Really wanted USA to pull it back at the end.

the most disappointing thing of the match was at the end. hitting the bar 2 times! still extremely proud of our team what they achieved against argentina.
reporters from argentina were disappointed why they (actually messi) didnt score within the 90min. argentina would follow england, italy and portugal without a messi....

btw: go belgium!

Could it be a France v Belgium Final?
Of the teams left, France have played the best and Belgium look like they might be peaking, at just the right time.
Not convinced by Brazil or Argentina.

I still think Columbia can do it. They've been the most consistent team in the tournament and I think they've got the quality to beat the rest.

They've just got to overcome the host nation first.

Colombia have been great, but i think the same thing might happen to them against Brazil, as happened to Chile
They both never beat Brazil, in Brazil.
So there's a huge psychological factor to get over.

I would never write off Germany, but i think their defence might be a bit slow.
That and the form of France is why i'm leaning towards them.
But best of luck, i hope it's a great match.

Germany might actually win the cup now that we are out :)

Oh actually this year I think that the tradition would have been broken... We DEFINITELY sucked.

I think the quarter finals will be really exciting. All of the matches could, and should, be close. I think I'm mostly looking forward to France vs Germany. France were really strong in their group and should be a great match for Germany. Both teams have great attackers but sometimes shaky defense.

Hey Chris, yeah all the quarter finals could be exciting, i really have a feeling France are going to do it, they have the skill, team spirit ,a good manager and a better defence than Germany.
Though my money was on the  Brazil v Argentina final from the start, i'd be surprised now if they both get there.

I still think Brazil will win it. They HAVE to and I think that will see them through. I think it will take a few flukes on the way and I they are definitely not the best team there but with everything that happened there leading up to the world cup I think that will be enough to spur them on and win any way they can.

That's exactly why i backed them at the start to make the final, i never thought they were the best, but with the crowd behind them and some dodgy refereeing decisions, thought they would probably make it. But technically they look well behind some others.
Anyway it will be fun seeing how it all works out.
