i actually fell asleep before the game and woke up at around halftime. saw the score on the tv and had to take a double take

on a side note, i wonder if brazilians are rioting over the game right now lol.

I was stunned.  While I had Germany advancing, I did not anticipate they would annihilate Brazil like that.  I know they were missing Neymar and Thiago Silva, but based on how the Germans were attacking I don't think it would've made that much of a difference.

..... that was unexpected
Hahaha, now there's an understatement  :909

Half way in the match I was really hoping for some goals for Brazil, because it was almost too painful to watch..

Good lord, I had picked Germany in my ESPN bracket, (which was wrong by the end of the group stages, as I had Spain, England, and Italy advancing out of the group stage. I also picked against my own country to make it out (USA) so I feel guilty now..)

Anyways, back to the massacre game. Like I said, I picked Germany to win it all, and I was hoping that they would beat Brazil, but I wanted it to be a good game. With 5 goals coming in the first 30 minutes (and 4 within six minutes) my hopes for a nail-biter were dashed. I hope that whoever makes it out of the Netherlands-Argentina match gives a better game.

I hope its the Dutch that make it, because I feel like both Brazil and Argentina have been kinda skating by this entire tournament. So here's to a Netherlands-Germany final!

Good game.  Argentina-Germany final it is.  With this match-up, I'm gonna have to pick Germany to win it all.

There was nothing "good" about that game. Incredibly dull.

Germany are going to walk to victory.

Not so if you're from The Netherlands, like me. I thought it was nail biting and a very tense match all the way to the last minute. Bringing in Huntelaar was Louis van Gaal's only wrong switch during the entire tournament... If he'd brought in substitute keeper Krul, I'm sure we would have been in the final. Fortunately, we can't lose from the Germans now, which would have added to the trauma of 1974 :)

Germany are going to walk to victory.

They are, unless Messi can find his best form in the final.

But he looks very tired after a long season and maybe not 100 % fit.

I don't think Messi has been 100% fit all season.

Today we have the most meaningless game of the World Cup, the Third Place Match.  Maybe Brazil can go out on a high note, or not.  We shall see.

I do not think so. The most meaningless game was probably in the third round of the group stage.
