(IL / WI) Trying to help a friend and her man find a new beach.

So, one of my homegirls used to go up to Mazo Beach in Wisconsin pretty frequently, and she recently found out that the beach is now closed on weekdays or something thanks to ne'er-do-wells messing around there.  That's bad for her since her and her man can't really get weekends off together (we all live in the Chicagoland area, for reference.  She said the trip to Mazo is around 3 hours for her.  I've never been.)  What I wanted to know was if any Midwest users here, preferably around the Northern IL / Wisconsin area know of any other places like that that they could go to.  Thanks in advance!
