Had the "uncensored" version on last night.  Just extended footage and previously unaired footage.

After having watched the first two episodes, the jury is still out.  I'll give it one more episode for it to win me over.

It's fake. The 1st episode they just basically sat around & whined, not doing anything survival related. Explain this: his arrived closed shaved bread & top of his head but 21 days later his hair is virtually the same. Or this she mysteriously started wearing around her waist other than leaves. It was a fabric material & it was not from the bags they were given. Shortly thereafter she had more of the same material around her top. When she caught the turtle for the 1st meal did nobody find it weird that the camera crew was already set up for underwater shots of the turtle? This show is all about made up drama & using nudity as the shtick to get the ratings up.

Actually caught an episode of it yesterday. I have mixed feelings about it. The concept is interesting, but from what I saw, half the show consisted of the contestants complaining about each other and ridiculing each other's survival tactics. I feel like I should catch another episode or two to make a fair judgment though.

I sent them an angry e-mail about that... I basically told them that if you're going to name the show 'uncensored' it should actually be 'uncensored' I felt it was false advertising :P

Just like all other "reality" shows, this one is a fake.  What a surprise.

Next topic please.

If only the government would allow the show to be uncensored :'(

The Discovery channel is a cable channel. The Government does not censor them, they censor themselves out of fear of advertiser backlash. The FCC governs the airwaves not private cable networks.
The pixelation may also be part of the contestant agreement.

It's kind of ironic how the "Discovery" channel hides so much.

I have to admit that what I've seen of the show really doesn't make me want to start watching it. I'm sure that it's entertaining, but there's really nothing about it that I feel a great need to put up with. As I've said before in another topic, it's there for sensationalism and entertainment to get ratings for the channel. It's far to unrealistic in so many ways to be anything but.
