^Haha! As a kid, I remembered picking disk shaped stones and throw it horizontally to the water and see it jump on water three times.

Only 3?

Come now - you can do better than that.

Hahaha! LOL! Didn't expect that. How many can you do, btw?

Man, we used to get anywhere from 15-20 as kids. Sometimes, on the rare occasion that someone made a perfect throw with the perfect stone it would get 30 or more.

Yup!

That's about what we could do.

I have thrown at stationary targets while moving, but not moving targets... I'd have to get pretty creative to make a moving target to throw my spikes at. A swinging target would work, I suppose. Though, achieving adequate penetration would be much more difficult with a mover. I might have to try that now.

Not that creative. Just run a cable from a high anchor point to a low one. Than once you release the target gravity does all of the work.

Yeah, I was thinking something that provided a bit more motion than swinging. But, I could have multiple targets set up to swing upon being released by any kind mechanism. That would make up for the lack of increasing distance provided by a moving target. I'm gonna set them up at different distances and practice that way for a while.
