Why do we wear clothes?

This video actually has no interest of promoting nudity, but has a interesting point of view of why society started to use clothing, and why do we normally feel embarressed being nude around others.

yes why do we wear clothes, would save  on clothing/washing etc.

It is an interesting video but IMHO the argument presented is mere rationalization. 

I believe that if the whole truth were ever to be known (and BTW it can't be) we would find out that clothing was invented as a defence against the elements (that's a no-brainer), developed as a status symbol (Duh!) and became codified in society first by patriarchal religion, then by secular law.
