Ha i wanted to start this topic cuz the guitar guys have theres so us drummers will have ours

My favourites are:

Travis Barker - (Blink 182) Absolute legend, he can do so much on a drum kit
Lars Ulrich - (Metallica) One of the best basic drummers in my opinion
Jason Costa - (All That Remains) Great mix of absolute insanely fast double kick beats and good melodic beats
Travis Smith - (Trivium) Good all round metal drummer
Dave Mackintosh - (Dragonforce) Insanely fast drummer
Omar Abidi - (Fightsar) I just love his style of having so many kick and snare beats in a verse and I love the way he incorporates toms as intors to beats and stuff like in "We Apologize For Nothing" and "Never Change"
Nicko McBrian - (Iron Maiden) What all can you say! The legend still lives on!

I have no knowledge of playing drums. But I like to see Yoshiki Hayashi, the drummer of X-Japan.  
I like his passion and how he always gives everything. This is a solo from the last concert of X-Japan. In 2008, X-Japan celebrated her comeback, unfortunately without Hide. Rest in peace Hide :(

As a drummer myself, speaking to those who are drummers themselves (more than those who aren't): how about those who are not in bands - or work independently? My favourites are a mix of independent drummers and drummers in bands.

Some of my favourites are Steve Smith (of jazz band Vital Information), Gregg Bissonette, Benny Greb (love this guy's grooves!), Keith Carlock (of Steely Dan), Jojo Mayer (of the band Nerve) and Tommy Igoe (Broadway drummer - wrote the percussion parts to the Lion King musical, and is very committed to musical education issues). Since I am a fan of the band Breaking Benjamin, I have to add Jeremy Hummel and Chad Szeliga to that list. That's only eight for now, but given enough time, I could think of plenty more!

this answer i is the same, about the last 10 years: lars ulrich.. is there anyone anytime who can beat him? its not my fav musicstyle, but his drums are the best i think. so much ... hmmmm.. can´t discribe ;)
