@brandon, it's a hobby. I'm gonna be spending a lot of time and money on it, and it's not going to the junkyard for a long time! haha I'm thinking an eventual engine swap too. That Mustang 5.0 v8 is looking tasty!

But for now, it's not only the roof. The roof IS the worst, but the rest is following slowly. The cost also includes rust-proofing, which is needed up here if it's an everyday driver in the winter!

Don't get a thick oil, tar or wax-based rustproofing. Moisture gets in between the rustproofing and the metal, causing more rust. Also, those products are too thick to flow into narrow gaps.

Instead, get an annual spray of a thin liquid by Krown rustproofing or Rust Check.

Also, swap the engine before you paint the fenders. No matter how careful you are trying to keep them covered, you'll end out with some scratches.
