No dickies please, we’re a naturist site (?!?!)

I don’t, as a rule, visit naturist web sites unless for research or educational purposes. The purpose might be to see what a camping pitch costs per night, for example. But there are occasions when I either click-through to find a site that’s objectionable and not very ‘genuinely naturist’ in intent, or Harry will send me a photo, a graphic, or something else that he thinks might suit our purposes.

I was slightly shocked and appalled, therefore, to click through to a tumblr website recently which the owner had named in such a way that it appeared ‘genuinely naturist’, but there was a banner along the top which said he wouldn’t be showing any photographs in which ‘dicks/cocks’ were shown. (It’s safe to say the owner is certainly male).

What????

A penis and testicles (or, strictly speaking, the owners of such items) form a good 50% of naturism. Possibly more than 50%, given that it’s harder to attract women to the naturist lifestyle.



According to some tumblr site owners, this is the sort of real life scene you aren’t going to witness on their sites.

So if you’re going to run a naturist website that is properly, genuinely naturist, then it’s only fair that presenting a balanced view of the lifestyle will and should include ‘dicks/cocks/penis;’. Alternatively, don’t present it as ‘genuinely naturist’, with a naturist themed name, and preferably name it as ‘naked women who may be on a beach’. Because that’s what it being offered.



Better to heavily crop a photo to keep ‘dicks or cocks’ out of the photo, because that really offers a true reflection on the naturist lifestyle….yes?

Honestly, this makes me as mad as those SL sim owners who will advertise their location as ‘naturist’ or ‘nudist’ and when you teleport into it you find that it’s little more than a cybersex sim with outlandishly sized penises and breasts displayed everywhere. And while cybersex is something I’ve never indulged in, I can just imagine the ‘erotic’ nature of the conversations, a series of monosyllabic grunts accompanying simulated, cartoon sex.

Another thing…these sort of real life tumblr site owners seem to then undermine their own argument if it’s a real life photograph of a girl performing oral sex. Maybe some tumblr site owners simply aren’t that smart…
Whether you’re running an SL ‘nudist’ sim, or running a ‘nudist’ tumblr site, you fellas need to get your act together.

I couldn't have put it better myself.  If you want to set up a site showing only naked women and call yourself a naturist site you really have no real concept of the lifestyle and are IMO just a horny individual looking to get a kick out of seeing the female form naked.  If you really want that there are plently of porn sites for you to choose from.  Naturists come in all shapes and sizes (and shock horror with a penis) and a site that has photography on it should show this wide range that we come in.  Otherwise all that is created is further marginalisation of the community that only shows girls.  I hope that any people who read this and have come here for vagina and boobie photos will leave disappointed.  We are not like that here.  We are a wholesome site.  So it will be a fair representation of us.  As for oral sex shots this is clearly nowt to do with our lifestyle if that is your thing you will not find that here.  RANT OVER.

Terrific article. I totally agree. You can't call yourself a naturist site and only show nude pics of girls and then request that no depictions of penises be posted. It is nothing short of voyeuristic and is most likely posted with no good intent whatsoever.

I've also found that most naturist/nudist labelled tumblr sites are largely biased and seem to only post pictures of women.  With that said, I have found a few good ones as well that have a better mix of men and women.

I wish there were more sites promoting true FKK. If we didn't have websites like those mentioned above I believe there would be more people involved in naturism. All they do is create the stigma and false convictions that attack the naturist lifestyle. Which in turn causes people not to see naturism for what it is. I'm glad that we have FKK here and I want to thank the people of IYNO who keep it that way.

I agree sites that say they are nudist sites and show photos up just one sex are not. Also to be guys showing the self off with a hard on and main focus is on there genitals also are not nudist!!  Most sites I feel aim towards being sexual and really not nudist sites.  Nudity is self is not sexual and should not be looked at as such and i know all of you agree!

I am accustomed to its community.

In my travels of tumblr - the sites that promote "nudists/naturists" are simply sex/porn/rude nude blogs.

They steal pictures and upload to their tumblr blog and they try to get "followers" as they are presenting naked people of all "ages" under the cloak of a legal manner such as nudism/naturism.

Simply put - they are most likely sleazy people trying to get their jollies in under the false disguise.

I give zero credit of legitimacy to 99% of them.

There certainly are a lot of sleezy or voyeristic sites out there. They really don't help the argument as to weather or not naturist photography is necessary.

That's why many girls can't approach naturism: it's hard,with such an amount of voyeurs.
Unfortunately a lot of male nudists, at least here in Italy, are people like these ones. How can a serious nudist scene survive?

There are far too many of these blogs on tumblr which claim to be naturist but are just a way if showing photos (some sexual) to its followers.

I have a blog which is strictly naturist.  I try to keep it text based or if I share an image it's mostly some sort if quote or something that promotes naturism.  I noticed that even though I limit the nudity and post fairly infrequently the blog still has hundreds of followers.  Most of the followers are people that run blogs that share porn or nudity images for sexual reasons.  Unfortunately I cant see this ever being different until tumblr eventually (as I've no doubt they will soon) remove blogs that contain nudity from the site.

i've googled around for nudism, and ive found that most real nudist places have dicks hanging out, and the rest are just excuses to show pictures of boobs at the beach.
not that i didnt want to see that...

I like seeing boobs too, but when a website is about naturism I want to see naturism. Once I found a so defined "naturist" blog with some porn images... This only distances people from real naturism, because it helps seeing us as perverts.
