I happen to know for a fact that contrary to popular belief, the Original Star Wars trilogy is historically accurate. In fact, you might as well call them documentaries.
Note that I'm referring to the original trilogy - not to the prequel or any other films.
Furthermore, I think that Toy Story & Finding Nemo are pretty accurate as well, though I can't vouch for them...

On a serious note, I think The Pianist is pretty accurate historically. It is based on the autobiography of Wladyslaw Szpilman.

Who can say with certainty that there is not really a galaxy far, far away where that stuff happened a long time ago?
Please send me a message on the forum before contacting me over IM. For best results, also mention what you want to talk about, I am not much of a smalltalker.

Well, assuming the universe is infinite, everything that CAN happen, MUST happen...

Just finished Octobre which I was long due to see.

It's the story of the kidnapping of the minister Pierre Laporte by the Chénier cell of the FLQ (Front de Libération du Québec) in 1970 from the point of view of the kidnappers.

It's a great movie.

A movie that has gone unnoticed by many is "When trumpets fade" by John Irvin. It is based on real events. I watch this film 23 times in 6 or 7 years. It isn´t as good as Saving private ryan.

From what I know of:

Hidden Figures
The Lady https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1802197/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
Gandhi https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083987/?ref_=nv_sr_1
The Life of Emile Zola https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0029146/?ref_=nv_sr_1
The Rabbit Proof Fence https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0252444/?ref_=nv_sr_1
Flash of Genius https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054588/?ref_=nv_sr_1

I hope they fit the category. I'm assuming that films that show an accurate representation of what happened in history at some point is what you're looking for. Unless you're looking for historical events that are extremely famous and well known.

I know also that some films representing historical events sometimes incorporate real footage into the movie too, but I can't think of any examples at the moment.

I think that the movie "Diplomacy" (2014) was quite accurate about the last days of German occupation of Paris in WWII

Let's Get Skase is a historical comedy about these blokes who tried to kidnap a fugitive Australian businessesman. They almost pulled it off too!

Not Titanic?

You mean it didn't sink?

Another movie "Schindler's List" by Steven Spielberg.

 :agree

Did you ever watch a Canadian show called Corner Gas? The policeman in it is in a club for people who think Battlestar Galactica really happened.

Whose keys are lost and on whose door is set the Cadi's seal.
