I thought this article was interesting because it seemed as though there was shame amongst the nudity.

The players are absolutely right to feel that their privacy has been invaded.  I doubt that there is any shame in the nudity though.

A few years ago a photo got put on the front page of my local paper with a naked football player from my local team (Macclesfield Town). everyone seemed to think that was funny.
