3DS Question
« on: July 29, 2014, 12:08:12 pm »
My right shoulder button has essentially given up. Again. The left's holding out but is a bit erratic. So, should I just send my 3DS off for repairs, try and fix it myself, or should I upgrade to an XL or 2DS and see if the shoulder buttons are better on a different system?

Nintendo are pretty good with repairs so I'd drop em a line. It will save you shelling out for a new one.
what's to say?

This is the second time it's happened though. I'm just wondering if it would be cheaper in the long run to get a new system with more reliable shoulder buttons.

Did you get it repaired by Nintendo?  They are usually great.  If they have repaired it once then they will probably re do it free.

Classic shoulder buttons. If you want a temporary solution, blowing into it will make it work for a little bit, but it's bad for the system Otherwise, do what everyone else suggested. Send it in.

I didn't send it in, but now it seems to be working properly again.

Maybe the sheer heat and humidity we've been experiencing messed it up a bit?

Well honestly , it's best to get it fixed by proffessionals , beacause if you fix it yourself and something goes wrong you won't have your warranty anymore , and you risk breaking other things as well .

I think that in the lon9 run, you shouldnt press too hard on the button. my elder brother was like this, he 9ets an9ry in the 9ame because he's playin9 on a difficult mode and squeezes the buttons to vent out is wrath.

inside the controller, there's this soft rubbery buttons that touches the circuit to respond when you press it. I think this rubbery thin9 is worn out.
