Just out of curiosity was it as famous worldwide as it was in North America? I know that the CBC and a station in Toronto made a big deal about it so that's why I ask. it was obviously a huge deal in the US, every news outlet was talking about it (and doing Yellow journalism)

I heard about it here and saw the horrific clip. Although I only saw the article because it was trending on Facebook. I think most big story news is international now especially with social media.
