Did anyone else feel final fantasy 8 is under rated?

I always thought it had a large following. Was I just around the right crowd?

I'm not sure, I do remember people I knew at the time weren't as into it as me and certainly not as into it as they were with FF7.

FF7 and FF8 are both classics, in my view.
I really liked FFX also. It had a solid story and even better graphics at the time. (I still listen to the soundtrack to this day)

Funny thing about FFX I never finished it, I'm not sure why but despite the improved graphics if I remember right it was the first one on ps2 but there was something that I found boring about it. It's been so long I can't remember but I never finished the game or bought X-2

I second this. It's such a good game. In fact, it's not just a game; it's a whole emotional experience. It's very good at making you connect with the character.

On the surface, it seems simple; you are out exploring and maintaining the forest as a wildfire lookout. But, as the story goes on, the deeper themes of escapism and isolation begin to emerge. The game is very well-reviewed for its graphics and soundtrack, but people sometimes complain about the ending and how they found it disappointing. Don't listen to them. The ending may seem disappointing on the surface, but when you take the time to think about it more deeply, you'll realize that it's all part of the game's broader theme.
