Old school pokemon player here, red blue and yellow versions.
I think my best combo was Charizard, Articuno, Zapdos, moltres hitmonchan and Graveller.

This game mod has inspired me to create my own game with naturist philosophies without having to work with copyrighted material and programming limitations. Update: I have a Emerald ROM but emulator only says "Battery Loaded" then does nothing

You need some sort of IPS patcher (http://fusoya.eludevisibility.org/lips/) to apply that patch to the game. What emulator are you using?
