I have been a fan since the days of Wesley Crusher. I had a massive crush on him and my friends thought I was stupid.  Oh, those days!  Bring back Wesley!

I will certainly go see this if I can find a friend who will tolerate going with me!

YUMMY!

I was a fan of Wes myself back in those days.  As a preteen the idea of some 17 year old kid coming up with solutions to problems that even the best and brightest officers couldn't appealed to me.  As I got older I discovered that the character was hated by many other fans and I can't understand why to some degree.  These days Wil Wheaton runs a blog where he talks about anything and everything from politics to geek culture and old Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes.  He often put up reviews of old TNG episodes, which he often hadn't watched in years.  He both shares behind the scenes stories of working on them and offer commentary now that he can see them as an older and more mature person, including saying things like "WOW, what were they thinking, no wonder so many fans hated Wes."

BTW I've seen the new Star Trek movie twice, once in a regular theater and once in IMAX, amazing.

That is the disadvantage of being off-mainstream. Stuff we like is not profitable.
Please send me a message on the forum before contacting me over IM. For best results, also mention what you want to talk about, I am not much of a smalltalker.

That was one of the best films ever. And I am not kidding, it was brilliant! The fights were awesome, Spock was wicked and I was always entertained for the full length of the film.

I am so getting it on Blue ray now.

And that's what the media studios are trying to do with their value chains and multiple retail. You're playing right into their hands...

Damm Media Studies, it's made me cynical about films ^^

As for the new film, it rocks! Its both non-geeky and hyper-geeky, with lots of references die hard fans will get (Admiral Archer's beagle, the Kobyashi Maru, Captain Pike, etc). Even my mum liked it!

In all honesty, I'm not sure Kirk got away with it either.

Worf might manage it though.
