Travelling topic

Why isn't there (sorry if I'm blind and missed it) a topic/forum room for travelling? One of the reasons we have internet is to meet people and to find information for travelling. For me that's one of the reasons why, to find like-minded and to be able to hang out some day. I'd like to request a shout out topic for travelling.

Same here :) I'd go to the country section of the place you want to visit and ask there... I'm sure pepe will share their knowledge of their knowledge. Or there is the contact/meet up thread..

I am going to New York and next year probably Asia somewhere. Local travel tip thread kinda. I tried in the language section, but that wasn't the same thing.

Tried it.. and really no response whatsoever sadly. And it's not because of me :P I think we need a travel-topic more rather than "Get in touch", since all of the internet is communication and kinda like that, get in touch.

If anyone is traveling, recommend they join up to couchsurfing, even if staying in someones place is not your thing, it can also be a great way to meet some locals.

Maybe reach out to snowkid? I know they used host couch surfers and they're right in manhattan.

I'm so sorry!
I just looked him up in the member directory (on the toolbar above) and it appears that his profile has been deleted.
Dee seems to be gone too!
Suddenly I feel out of touch.

Next time I talk to Wade (Snowkid) I'll ask him - the relationships you strike up here do extend out into the real world [sometimes] and I'm still in touch with him albeit infrequently.

Also I've never used couch surfing but I have heard good things about it. Obviously you would have to be SUPER careful! If you do sign up there try to find a guy named Wade in Manhattan - (if possible) it may help to look for key word's like burning man, Dr Carl's Department of Collections and snowkid.

For now that's the best I can do.
