This is his recent performance in New York.  He was the only person nude amongst the whole crowd, none of whom seemed to give a fuck that he was nude.

Thanks for sharing this. It was fascinating watching the reaction of the crowd to his casual, public, non-sexual nudity. Apart from a couple of confused glances, nobody seemed interested, even though he is a fine specimen of manhood.  But I fear that this is the usual gender-based reaction to such an event.  If Ton Dou were female I believe the behaviour of crowd, especially the men, would have been somewhat different.

Yeah they're not masterpieces but then again there isn't much of canon of non-sexual nudity to draw on in terms of song writing but maybe he should find a better songwriter to work with

I disagree.  Musical appreciation is a subjective matter.  At least they are nothing like Nickelback or Justin Bieber.  But they need a bit more work production-wise, especially if he wants to get them played on commercial radio stations.

That's true.  There have only been a small handful of musicians who have made albums dedicated solely to the nudist lifestyle like Shane Gentry & The Nekkid Monday Band; Ton Dou; and The Naked Drummer & The Baileys Road Band.

Out of them, I think Shane Gentry's music shows the most vigour and professionalism to it, it's a good taste of Southern Rock music with a nudist slant to it.



Ton Dou's songs aren't too bad, but the mistake that most nudist songwriters and musicians make IMHO is that their song subjects are too trite and samey.  Nudity can be used to convey a wide variety of themes and emotions, not just nudism and they don't have to be graphically sexual either.

As many members on here will know, I am also a nudist musician and songwriter and have been struggling to get a band up and going for several years to make this lifestyle more socially and commercially accessible.  I write about things that happen both internally and externally of the nudist movement or lifestyle, they aren't just "Hey let's get naked/Naked is fun" stuff.

Ton and some of his posse ended up getting arrested during this concert.  I don't know what for, but I thought he had obtained a dissertation to perform in the first place.
