Naturist retreat in the Southern Highlands a rare opportunity

   l
Never let it be said that commercial property is all about the serious business of big buildings and floor space. Sometimes it involves nudity.
We’ve spied an investment opportunity in the Southern Highlands where a clothing-free resort is on the market for $4.75 million.
River Island Nature Retreat, near Mittagong, is a freehold offering of 573 hectares with a conference centre, cabins, campsites, shop and residential buildings.

I went there quite a few years ago with my bf at the time - a beautiful spot - you can go hiking in the nude. It was an older crowd but a great place.

Its been on the market for quite some time. The owners are getting well past it in terms of being able to maintain it all.
Hopefully it can be saved. Ive had some good times there and its truly a natural wonder

I have stayed there on a few different occasions. It is a wonderful place, and on busy weekends can attract over 100 people.
The birdlife is stunning, and there are lots of great bush walks. They have several pools and spas, which are great for socialising when it gets cooler in the evening.

The owners Colin & Catina started their naturist journey at my nudist club Naturi several decades ago, and since then were able to live the dream and create a full time naturist life with a healthy income too! From my basic calculations, they would collect something like $400,000 in yearly rates from those with leased sites alone, not counting casual visitors like me who pay $170 per night to stay in a small cabin. They are getting quite frail now, hence the sale.

Worth a visit for any nudists travelling to Australia!

It has been sold and the new owners are not naturists.
I may be nude but at least my mind is open

What a shame!

I wonder what all of those people will do who have built small dwellings on site. Some of them have spend $10's of thousands on building decks and kitchens and entertainment areas etc. All because they can reside nude there.

Some interesting times ahead I fear...  :confused

I checked the agent who is listing this property and it is still for sale...  :confused

So, if you are a naturist with $4.5 million spare, please buy this!

Sale must have fallen through - SMH/The Age ran an article about a month ago saying had been sold.

I had heard that it was for sale, but not that it had been sold. Even had thoughts about buying it - would be great if we could pool money and buy it as a collective.
