Marzipan (2006)

This is a short film written and directed by the extremely talented German, Carolina Feix. It's a bizarre tale that features deceptively innocent little girls, enslaved little boys, evil indoctrinations and a rebellion; all built around a dark and malevolent fairy tale tone, augmented by an ominous soundtrack and a relatively impressive production standard. It left me in turmoil for days. Marzipan is probably the most viscerally disturbing piece of film making I've seen in the past several years. A gem.
