Nudist resorts flourish in Thailand’s most popular tourist haunts, including Pattaya and Phuket

Danish businessman Gregers Moller plans to open more nudie hotels and isn’t shy about his naked ambition

FLESH friendly resorts catering specifically for nudist holidaymakers are springing up through out Thailand.

Bare-bottomed businessman Gregers Moller and his wife, who both hail from freezing cold Denmark, have opened four exotic getaways in the balmy south east Asian country.
The ‘naturist’ resorts are located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya and Phuket and actively encourage guests to strip off to their birthday suits and mingle with like-minded nudie enthusiasts.


Moller’s getaways are the only resorts in Asia which exclusively cater for clothes-averse revellers.
And according to a report in the South China Morning Post, the ambitious entrepreneur plans to open a colossal 8,000 sq ft naked colony between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi by the end of the year.
While speaking with the news outlet, Moller said he gives guests a more “primitive experience.”
He said: “It’s close to nature.”
The Dane, who grew up in a household of Scandinavian nudists, opened his first naked hotel, named Chan Resort in Pattaya, in 2009.


The former journalist, who worked for a Danish newspaper, first arrived in Thailand in 1988.
Moller says most of his skin-obsessed guests hail from India, Australia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Burma, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan.
He said: “They go to their rooms, take off their clothes and come down to the restaurant and talk to other people.
“Naturists are very talkative and they like to talk to each other.
“Most people who come here are couples. But we also have many singles. Other couple guests don’t mind having singles as long as they do not expect any sexual activity.”
But despite some nudie holidaymakers feeling frisky in the sizzling summer heat, sex in public is strictly forbidden at Moller’s sophisticated establishments.



Public bonking is banned by the Naturist Association Thailand which was established by the pioneering Dane and his naked spouse in 2007.
The respected association boasts a whopping 3,000 members which includes resort operators who reserve parts of their premises for naturists.
Moller said: “The hotel operators have to sign a contract with the association to behave according to standards. No sex is allowed in public places.
“For the individual members, we have regular meet-ups like the upcoming naked run in October in a three kilometre jungle outside Bangkok.”
And while nudism is restricted by law in Thailand, Moller says he organises public outing to private beaches .
He said: “You can see some beaches in Phuket where nobody will mind if women are topless. But they will mind if the men are naked.
“However, there’s a private island which is owned by the Thai navy which is one hour by boat from Pattaya.
“Every month, the association members will go to the beach on the island on a Sunday or Saturday for a picnic or games.”

This is great to hear, good luck to Moller bringing the availability of naturism to the masses in Asia! I would love to travel to that part of the world and now have an even better excuse :)

But on a side note its such a shame that every article about naturism in the media has to mention sex in it too :/

Had to look up the word bonking to understand what the heck they meant. It sounds like a awesome idea, I just fear that the new president of Indonesia don't send hit squads to the place.
