Where nudity should be the norm
« on: December 28, 2016, 09:21:34 pm »
I have a really interesting topic for today. I wanted to touch on the subject of places and activities where being nude should be the common practice. Most of the time clothing is required and not because it’s more practical, but because society has deemed that certain parts of the body should not be seen publicly. This notion is completely wrong, in my opinion at least. Here are some places and activities that would benefit from not requiring clothing.
One obvious place where being nude should be the norm is swimming pools, beaches, bathing houses etc. Now, I know there’s clothing optional ones, and even places where clothing is not allowed, but this should be the common place everywhere.

Naturist Stuff height=174

Many different sports would also be better if they were practiced naked. Clothing actually restricts the athlete, as the body is more free to move when not wearing anything. It can get in the way and also adds extra weight, so it is pretty much a hinder. Shoes might be necessary in certain sports, but other than that, clothing is pretty much useless. In ancient Greece it was actually common place for sports to be done in the nude, it’s too bad that modern times have changed that. Of course, certain sports like American football for example, do need something extra for protection. But in most cases, if you just think about it a little, sports would absolutely be better off done clothes free. Also, there’s not many things more beautiful than an athlete’s well trained body, if we’re thinking from an artistic point of view.

Another thing that should be done naked is dancing.

Much like sports, clothes restrict the movements that the body makes. There are actually nude dance pieces, even if not that many, but enough to prove the point that clothes are not really needed. That’s why lately there’s more and more of them, or at least the dancers wear less clothing, so it looks like the people are figuring out that dancing better done without clothes. I know that certain dances entail certain attires, but that’s pretty much the only thing you can bring up that is contra clothes free dancing. Also, you can’t forget how beautiful a nude dancer’s body is, why hide it ? Now having named sports and dancing, we can probably draw the conclusion that most physical activities are better done in the nude. A new trend emerging is naked yoga, which is nice.

These three are just a few examples of things better done naked, there are plenty more. I would love to see you guys write some more activities/places that fit the description in the comments section below. Generally speaking, most things that we do clothed can also be done nude, and it usually makes it a lot more fun and enjoyable. For example, doing chores, just relaxing at home, watching tv, going on walks, and even social gatherings could be improved by going clothes free. That is basically what nudists/naturists know already and also one of the main reasons they love being naked. Now it’s up to the rest of the world to figure it all out. I can only hope for my sake (and everybody else’s really), that nudity will be welcomed in more and more places and activities.

Think about it, at home you shower/bathe naked, so why should it be any different in other places ? Bathing suits serve no real purpose, they just cover up certain parts of the body that society thinks shouldn’t be seen in public. In my opinion the beautiful human body is not something one should be ashamed of and hide. Also, if you swim clothes free, you will instantly realize that it feels much better and way more comfortable as well. And when you are enjoying bathing in the Sun at beaches, it’s pretty much the same thing, and if you are naked you don’t get ugly tan lines either. To conclude, the fact that certain places allow nudity proves that people deep down know that water is better enjoyed naked.

Patients in the hospital is one place that has always stood out in my mind.  The gown does nothing but provide a small amount of modesty.
Also (this isn't based in reality, but it strikes me every time) when people get wounded in movies, they always bandage over the clothing instead of cutting it away lol.

Oh man, I'd hate to imagine skateboarding while naked. Ya wipe and it won't feel good at all.

All of these would be more practical in the nude and should definitely be the norm

Aerobics just like Yoga are  better practiced in the nude because you need to see your own body to correct any wrong postures and perform in a precise convenient way. I personally practice yoga and noticed the huge difference .

Yeah with all the wipeouts that happen on a skateboard, I would never skate nude haha

Similar to the argument for wearing pads and such during football, wearing something thick like jeans while skating would greatly reduce road rash and other skin injuries resulting from falling off a skateboard.  The guy does look like he's having lots of fun skating nude though, to each his own... just be extra careful!

Cannot agree more! I'm out in the bush with some non-naturist friends, doing my yoga routine outside every morning. I should be doing it nude, but I think I'll freak some of them out. It's so annoying when my shorts stick to my leg... Maybe I should just go for it lol. I think they all suspect I'm a naturist anyway.

Definitely beaches and any water-related activities. I would also say any kind of meditative practice should be encouraged as nude practices, as it allows you to connect more to your setting. At least it has for me!

Definitely agree on sandy and wet activities. :D
Also I've heard that naked driving is enjoyable - have yet to do any myself though.

I'm still hemming and hawing on some of the naked sports. In theory, stuff like bouldering and tennis sound super fun - on the other hand, taking falls and tumbling without clothing onto the rock wall/ground just sounds like a bad time.
Also winter sports. brr >_<

I've added naked ice skating to the bucket list after the latest naturist living show though - it just sounds too fun to pass up ^_^

I did not see anything on hiking which is done better naked as well! Why not be natural in nature? My favorite activities nude are, naturally, swimming (diving, flipping too), yoga, gymnastics and hiking. It is even better when you do yoga while hiking naked (see attachment) :azn:!

I do like boxer briefs in sports like soccer though since it feels a bit weird having your stuff bounce around everywhere when running.
