About us

Isefjærleiren was bought in 1996 and is owned by the Norwegian Naturist Federation, smaller naturist associations and private members. The objective of the purchase was to establish a summer holiday place for Norwegian and foreign naturists. Outside the naturist season, the rooms and facilities were to be rented out for other activities. 

Since1996 the place has seen slow, but big changes. The former British military training camp has been turned into a picturesque and attractive South Coast resort. In summer we get visited by Norwegian naturists from all over the country and we still see the number of guests from abroad rise every year.


How we operate

Administration, management and maintenance are taken care of by enthusiasts without compensation. Every year, many hours of voluntary work are spent on the upkeep and development of what Isefjærleiren has to offer naturists.

The driving force behind all this voluntary work is a genuine wish to be part of the creation of a thriving camping site and to make it a great place to be for all.


Development and maintenance require many resources. Because we cannot make enough money in the summer months, we have established a fund called Isefjærleirens vennefond. Anyone can donate a smaller or bigger amount of money here. ”Many small streams make a big river”, they say here, and a small amount for you can mean a big difference for the community!


A solid core of enthusiastic people do their very best, either by working as a volunteer in the summer season, or by helping with specific projects. Then there are them who have taken admistration and accounting upon themselves, or are responsible for bigger decisions as a member of the board. We cannot exist without them!

Would you like to volunteer?


Do you have good people’s skills, do you know about service and do you like to live as a naturist? Then we are looking for you! The volunteering will be mostly guest related and it will include cooking for guests and cleaning rooms and sanitary buildings, especially in the high season (half June and all of July).

We also need people to help with painting, construction, maintenance of buildings and maintanance of plants and trees. You don't need any experience, just a good pair of hands and the will to learn.

Workload will vary, depending of weather, number of guests and number of volunteers. You will have very relaxed days with two hours of work, and some much longer but highly rewarding days too.   We do our best to make sure you have a day off every now and again. The core team and regulars form the base of the 'Isefjær family', and our aim is to make everyone feel at home in our little paradise, both guests and volunteers.

It is great, but not necessary, to know Norwegian, but you do need to speak good English.

We cannot pay you anything, but you will get a room for yourself and all meals are included. You will also meet many great people!

it looks like a very nice place and people - just be aware it will be rather cold outside except for the summer months so its mostly indoors and the sauna that will be a comfortable place to be naked
