The most stupid thing said regarding music EVER!

I was talking to someone who works with me today about Classical music and they said:

"Do I look like the kind of guy who likes classical music?"  To which I said "What sort of person does someone who likes classical music look like?"  He then replied "An old person as it is closer to their generation." (said with a dead straight face.

How I did not fall on the floor laughing I do not know

Well relatively he is right.  Most classical pieces are hundreds of years old, so the older you are the closer you are to it, age wise .  Still doesn't make logical sense though.  Most of the people I know who like classical are 30s and under.  Like myself

Why would you let your gender, age, or looks define what you listen to ?? I'm a rebellious chaotic teen and love listening to Green Day, but I bursted into tears earlier today while listening to Ed Sheeran's Castle on the Hill which is anything but rock.

I don't think this specific person is living a very happy and open life

No he just doesn't listern to anything that is not second half of the 20th century.

I guess it isn't for everyone, I was in concert band in high school so I always had admiration to its complexity. It takes serious practice and skill to play, especially as a group.

Exactly! If you listen to a lot of recent music you can hear classical influences, for example the intro to one of deadmau5's new songs...

While not strictly classical, a lot of movies and games and such have orchestral soundtracks too - most of the complexity is there (imo), but the songs just end sooner rather than going on for a whole hour-and-a-half-long four-movement symphony xD
