The Sydney Skinny

(1/1)

Tree:
This is probably one of the few times of year large numbers of people swim nude around Australia and it makes the news:

Was anyone involved?
Apart from living on the other side of the country, I don't like crowds so even if I were in Sydney, I probably would have taken the opportunity to go somewhere quieter.

Dario Western:
It's happening again next year on March 11th at Cobblers Beach.

NaturesDram:
I am hoping to do this in 2018 - it is a great event by the looks, and after it is all over, you can just spend the rest of the day at one of Australia's best beaches!!

Night Listener:
According to the announcement for the 2018 event, you can't stay at the beach during the "swim time", in order to make the shy participants feel comfortable. So you are right that it is only "after all is over" that you can spend the rest of the day there. During the event you may hang around the "festival area" where clothes are required.

To me, this event seems to be quite prudish, and this impression is fortified by the video from Daily Telegraph. Nudity only to an extent that nothing may be seen - this gives the wrong message IMO.

Dario Western:
I agree with the above statement.  Once you've seen what usually can't be seen, what's the big deal?  They might as well just be wearing neck-to-knee bathers for it.
