Neobyknovennye Priklyuchenija Karika i Vali

The Extraordonary Adventures of Karik and Valya is an English translation from Russian of Yan Larri's novel from 1937. Valya, or Wali in some translations, and her brother Karik are shrunk to the size of insects and live through lots of dangers and adventures. A professor tries to save them. The story has been translated from Russian to several languages, filmed by Russian television(they end up wearing some kind covering much earlier than in the book after they have fallen off the dragonfly) and possible inspiration for Disney movie Honey, I shrunk the kids. Which is what I thought of when reading the description of the novel.

We used to have lots of colour books from the Rainbow Publishing House in my home town (we were part of the communist block) but I have never seen this one before. Thanks for sharing, Daniel!

The idea of being as small as an insect and get lost in the garden was one of my childhood fantasy.
