« on: May 26, 2017, 02:46:15 pm »
So Im in need of help or advice for this. I know we have a lot of people here on this form that know how to help out computer so maybe you can answer my question .

So my husband turned off the pop-up blocker on my computer and I cannot figure out how to turn it back on or to get plug-ins I don't need to be running to stop running I've tried.
Whdb  one website opens another website opens and it is just becoming a problem.

How the hell do I fix this. He cannot remember how and I'm afraid  virus is gonna get into my computer.

What browser are you using?  If its firefox, click the menu button in the far top right, (3 horizontal lines).  Go to add ons then extensions.  If you don't already have it you could then search for adblock plus and install it.  If you already have it, there should be a option to enable it at that screen or next to the menu button in the browser.

Hm.  I don't know chrome very well, but this is what the support site says --

Turn pop-ups on or off

    On your computer, open Chrome.
At the top right, click More More.
    Click Settings.
At the bottom, click Show advanced settings.
    Under "Privacy," click Content settings.
    Under "Pop-ups," select an option:
Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended)
Allow all sites to show pop-ups

Did that work?  If not you could try going A-bomb and installing firefox and then adblock plus lol.  I don't know if that would work for you if you have specific work requirements.

But here is the link if you need it
