The New Zealand Band 'Head Like a Hole' although not specificaly nudist and no doubt done to shock or make a name for themselves, used to always perform nude even in huge venues. Would be interesting how many other bands (or members of) regularly hit the stage nude. I note there is a photo in the gallery of a girl sans lower garments on stage singing.

As I am interested in Kiwi culture, I took a look at this, Colin.  Interesting group!  I see they disbanded for 9 years and got back together.  The Wiki article is a cool read.

Seen them live quite a few times at Dig Day out and other festivals etc. they are not my favourite band but sure had energy.

well i play drums and guitar and sing a bit, mainly rock, blues and metal. Who else plays what? Attached is a shot of a band i was in at a gig many years ago (That's me on the blue Fender Strat) and my current music room downstairs which me and my son as well as the drummer and other guitarist from my old band jam. Would be a dag to post shots of all us musos playing our instruments or performing in the buff, maybe thats an idea for a new thread haha

The flag is an old one we used to fly at the New Zealand wing of the Confederate Air Force (A Texas based military aircraft preservation group, (you will find them at www.caf.org) before political correctness forced a change of name to the Commemorative Air Force. The CAF got its Confederate Air Force name as a joke back in the 1950s when a bunch of Texas based ex USAAF wartime pilots bought a few surplus military aircraft and painted on the aircraft the name they found by chance on some novelty business cards in a junk shop days before they had been asked to fly them together at a memorial event for a Texas cadet unit.

Im also a big fan of the Dodge Charger the General Lee which of course had one on the roof.
 Many people are anti the flag due to its association to the US pro slavery confederacy just as the Swastika flag represents Nazis, but i see it as purely an other interesting part of US history, a history that is best remembered not hidden so as the negatives of the past are not forgotten and repeated. Hiding these symbols away and NOT reminding people that THINGS happened in history plays into the hands of a repeat performance in the future. But back to the guitars......

Its a shame more bands don't cater to nudists. I often wished the Spice Girls or Girls Aloud, to give two completely random examples, had done more to embrace the nude market

BTW, Geri Halliwell did some very nice naturist orientated photos that were published in a lad's mag a couple of years before the Spice Girls came out and then resurfaced as a poster book about a year after looking like a teen girl's magazine.  It was withdrawn for sale after a number of parents complained even though the pictures were not pornographic.  I had a copy of it but I think it's been lost now.  :(

I play guitar and keyboards, as well as being able to play violin and trombone.  Lately I've also been taking up singing on some of the songs with my band both originals and covers, but mainly want to leave the vocal work to the girls.
I also wish The Veronicas could do something like it - they wrote a great song a couple of years ago called "Hook Me Up" about getting out of the stress of the mainstream world and back to nature with lines like 'I want to feel the rain in my hair'.  I was thinking of writing a pastiche of it called 'Nude Me Up' to have a more nudist/naturist theme, even though I am a fan of the band and have a crush on Jessica (I met them back in 2007 when they launched the song and the album of the same name).

Head Like A Hole are not a nudist band, but I've heard about them previously.  Other bands like Melbourne shock-dance-pop band Machine Gun Fellatio often featured nudity at their concerts with the lead singer once wearing a soft toy koala strapped over his genitals.  One of the female vocalists and backing dancers also posed nude in the sadly defunct nude photo art magazine Black & White.


The lead singer for American alternative rock band The Jesus Lizard used to perform nude on stage, and who can ever forget the wonderfully named Lubricated Goat for doing the song "In The Raw" on prime time pop culture show "Blah, Blah, Blah" in 1988?  (The clip is available on YouTube and the band have done other recordings and gigs and feel bitter they are only really remembered for the nude performance!)

Not forgetting that Flea, the Bassist from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers has performed nude in the past, but they don't cater specifically to nudists. Everyone gets to seem them!
