As far as the site itself goes, there's just the forums.

However, many people use the Yahoo Messenger.

I don't know about here as I don't work on the backend of the site, but I tried this idea on my own site once upon a time. A real time chat on a site is, like, mega resource intensive for sure. My site just couldn't keep up and it would crash all the time and it didn't even have a fraction of traffic that this site does.
