Pokemon USUM & Gen 8
« on: February 25, 2018, 03:04:34 pm »
Hey all, I haven’t been on IYNO in what feels like a lifetime.

Last Easter I got back into Pokemon for the first time since around 2001. Been playing Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun, Ultra Moon, Alpha Saphire, Y and a little of Silver on the Virtual Console. I’m close to completing my Pokédex on the Bank app too.

Has anyone else been enjoying these games after a long time away and how do folks feel about Gen 8 potentially coming out at the end of this year?

I've been going back through all my games and enjoying every last one of them. I'm always playing pokemon and can't wait for gen 8! I keep having this weird dream about the new bird pokemon and grass-starter but can never remember the details, so it makes me want to see what they'll actually look like! I just hope with the new generation that trainer customization will at least let us wear swimsuits, be barefoot, and let guys be shirtless. Maybe even make it so shirts and coats are two separate categories too? I'd love for my water-type trainer to be in a speedo and an open jacket, like a male Misty!

I'm going back and replaying too, since I stopped playing in about 2002-ish.

WonderTrades are great for filling in the missing parts of my Dex. I bought my ORAS, X&Y second hand so my dexes were largely filled in but I'm now trying to create a living Dex in my Bank App. How is your pokedex?

I’ve been doing some crazy amounts of Wonder Trading.

I now have two spare Shaymin and a spare Darkrai if anyone would like them just let me know.

Based off of yesterday's leaks the two Switch games will be Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee, and will take place in the Kanto Region, at the very least.

I hope we can visit all of the regions on Kanto's continent (Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, the Sevii Isles and Kalos), plus we get a good little selection of new Pokemon.

That's Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee announced. Spin-offs remaking Kanto, able to link up to Pokemon Go on your mobile. So a Gen 7.5 I guess.

Gen 8 comes around November 2019.

The Let's Go games seem pretty interesting. But they say they're an updated version of Yellow, which makes me wonder if these were their planned main RPG for the Switch, or if they plan for Gen 8 to be on the switch as well.

Looks like an entry level addition to the main line of games. It was a great multimedia approach back then to pull in fans of the animation, but I wonder if it'll work today to pull in Pokémon GO! fans. Do we know if it's worked on by GameFreak or a third party studio... or a combination of both?

Honestly, it boggles my mind that we're at a time where cross-platform with smart phones and consoles have such a large impact on gameplay. I'm really looking forward to what sort of game play experience we'll have in the next decade.

My favorite new pokemon is Salazzle I used one in moon followed by Mimkikyu.

Pyukumuku is my favourite in the current gen.

I'm hoping the semi-reimagined Kanto keeps the wonder of the old games.

Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh and Kalos all share a continent so it's a shame we can't visit all four provinces, plus the Sevii Isles.

Mega Evolutions (and potentially new ones) confirmed for Let's Go Eevee and Let's Go Pikachu!
