For the guitarists out there

For all the guitar enthusiasts on this forum, how do you learn new songs and riffs, do u use TAB's or just do it by ear and listen then try to figure out how to play it, or do you another another method? (computer programs, videos...etc)

I myself use TAB's and sometimes videos, i find them the most convenient to use :)

I can read music, but tabs are much easier. Vids get frustrating - too much rewinding, especially if they don't play first at a slow tempo.

I learn gat by either TAB or just figuring it out by ear. i have had no formal musical training. Same with drums, i just put on some tunes and play along to it eventually learning how they actually play each song.
Below is my present gear.

1st my Ibanez GAX70
2nd Some of my Marshall Amps
3rd my Fender Strat and Own signature Strat
4th my FX pedal

What goodies are other guitarists here using

I took up guitar lessons in high school where I learned to read the notes, but tablature was a lot more trickier and something I've never been able to master (though I can play some of the song 'Blackbird' by the Beatles and 'Eagle Rock' by Daddy Cool).

If I'm learning another song I read from tabs and listen to the song for timing. I find it much easier than trying to watch a video. Using tabs I can learn at my own pace rather than try and keep up with the person playing in the video.

I used tabs.. I like the songs of Richard Marx, M2M, and game sounds.

I used Weinstein guitar and Lumanog guitar.

I do by ear and tab a lot of times but personally I prefer actual sheet music.

I use guitar pro 6 it's very useful and I download my favorite songs' tabs to help me playing them in a decent way :)

I mostly check tabs (or just chord names with lyrics for the strum alongs kind of song), I used to watch video lessons, but understandingly they are a bit slow when explaining the chords and the patterns, etc (as they must be watchable for absolute beginers), so now I just check the tabs and if I need video I search for a guitar cover on youtube, so I get the general idea while having a close-up on the guitarist.
