I'm surprised Aucklanders are so prude:

Auckland woman launches topless revolution

Never would it come into my mind to wear a top when I'm at the beach!

Good for her! Thankfully the coverage seems fair and unbiased.

Yeah the coverage is but the comments aren't. I just left this comment, hope it gets posted.

Good luck Shannon! Don't let the wowsers put you off.

"What about the kids" is a very lame excuse because they really don't care. It's the prudish adults who can't think of a real excuse why they don't want to see things. Yet they forget that excuse when there's something on TV showing graphic death and mayhem.

People do not have a right not to see something, nor do they have a right not to be offended. Many believe they should, but they don't.

If you don't want to see it, look away and stop staring! Let other people be.

As with my comment on the British articles regarding covering up in dressing rooms, I have to say that I never would have expected such prudishness in Australia. All my views of these places being bastions of freedom and sensibility are being shattered!!

Just a small note....Auckland is in New Zealand. But yes sadly there are a lot of prudes here too.

EDIT:- Just had a look and hooray my post was published. also gladly, there are a lot more body positive comments on there now and a lot more slamming of the prudes! Go NZ!

Australia seems more open minded and less conservative than NZ.
